Hey guys,

this is Jake Lee teaching snowboarding lesson in Korea,

at Phoenix Park Pyeongchang, Vivaldi Park and Konjiam resort.

I am back with a worth-wathcing video, which explains CASI level 3 riding standards briefly.

It starts from intermediate sliding turns that is new to the level 3 exam since last winter.

Showing a good demo to interemediate level on both regular and switch is mandatory for level 3 riders

because from this level you get to evaluate candiates for low level instructor course

and train them to be good at it.

Other than that, switch riding is a must-do task to develop more in snowboarding in every aspects.

secondly advanced short turns on groomed!

You should be able to perform pretty high level of steering and board control at this level,

and fluid short radius turns can be a good example of skill set you are equipped with.

Next, advanced long turns A.K.A carving turns.

You have to prove that you've got a good sense of edging and pressure control, and a bit of steering as required

when riding with the max speed and momentum.

And finally another short radius turns, but this time on UNgroomed terrain.

When you get to teach high level students in Canada,

there are lots of ungroomed stuffs you can explore with them.

Thus riding confidently on ungroomed slope is a crucial ability you need to persue as an instructor.

And as you understand once you master those short turns on that condition,

you can open up whole new world for yourself! :)

I wouldn't say it was easy to pass level 3

especially if you understand the other 2 parts(Teaching & Instructor training) are considered

more difficult than riding portion in general.

Interestingly I passed teaching and instructor training parts with good score at once,

but took me 3 more exams to pass riding.

If you are preparing for level 3 exam,

make sure you understand this is going to be a journey which might take more than a season.

And if you want to take a snowboard lesson to reach at this level of riding,

I am here to help.
