Back in Perisher, Australia:Korean Snowboard Instructor

It feels like the time when I could travel freely and work in the Southern Hemisphere was a long-gone dream.

However there are still some unforgettable memories I would like to cherish, and make happen again soon.

The day this picture shows was one of those.

One day I got a message from a friend of Instagram, whom I had never met before.

He, this Korean guy was saying he happened to see me riding and teaching back in Whistler, Canada.

And he was planning to visit his friends in Canberra, AUS, which is close to the snowy mountain where I worked.

So finally he asked if it was okay to book me and take a lesson with his friend and his wife all together.

I was like.... Why not!?

'I am more than happy to meet you, so let me know in advance about what you would like to learn. I will start to plan the session immediately.'

Unfortunately the beginning was a bit chaotic.

There are 3 different locations where lessons start,

and the info in my schedule and his confirmation e-mail were not matching.

So we ended up waiting each other at different places,

then wasted a little bit of time.

But great time comes right after some little pain.

They tried to understand every bit of teaching,

and I also tried to adapt my session flow to their specific needs and abilities.

There were really impressive questions and answers going on,

plus I could clearly see their improvements phisically and mentally.

If I need to pinpoint one thing that impressed me most,

I would say their most respectful manners and eagerness to learn.

I have never felt that much of feeling respected, listened, and interacted.

I still keep in touch with one of them.

We don't forget to encourage each other to strive to the best of ourselves in terms of snowboarding.

Even if it is impossible to meet up and shred together because I am in Korea and he is working in US at the moment,

nobody knows the future for sure.

I will be making the most out of this tough time, looking forward to having some magical time like that above with others.

And maybe with the same guys again, anywhere in the world.
